NO CRACKS. Original Finish is quite crystallized and has major MOJO.
Seven loose braces now perfectly attached with Hide Glue. ALL braces and all parts are now fully functional and perfectly attached. This Repair was quite an interesting project as the guitar is so thin.
Very old non functional and non original tuners replaced with Stew Mac Golden Age tuners. Original bushings worked fine so still in place.
All work done by my friend and Tech, Pat Quinn. Pat has been a Senior Repair Tech at Taylor Repair in El Cajon for a dozen years now. Before that he did a decade of full time Repair at San Diego's world renowned Blue Guitar. He commented favorably on the now crystallized original finish and excellent condition and TONE.
Pat followed the Hippocratic dictum. "First, do no harm". This instrument is still as original as possible while now VERY Playable.
VERY Rare to find a mid 1920s instrument in such fine condition!
Sounds great and is a blast to play, but it is not getting much attention and needs a new home. I am too protective to take this BOSS AXE to my gigs, and just lay my open tuned John Kinnaird Custom down for lap slide...
Came with a non original p.o.s. Chipboard case that was falling apart. So I found it a Musician's Friend square neck reso case, and removed the string compartment so it fits very well!
Will ship USPS third day Priority, swaddled like fine china, packed for interstellar travel,
and insured on my Heritage account.
