Default A.J.Lucas Pavilion Sweep 13 in cocobolo and Sitka spruce

This has been an interesting commission. The customer tried my 12 and 14 fret Pavilion Sweeps (the neck to body joins are actually at the 14th and 16th frets respectively but would be at the 12th and 14th without the cutaway) and wanted something in between and so the Pavilion Sweep 13 was born.

He asked for some inlays in maple which are rectangular fret markers on the side of the fretboard, a pisces symbol at the 12th fret, a Celtic-type design around the soundport and a maple leaf near the tail inlay.

The top is Sitka spruce, the back a remarkably flamed pair of cocobolo boards and the sides fairly plain cocobolo. The neck is reclaimed Honduras mahogany, the fretboard Rocklite, an ebony substitute that is rather more stable, and the head veneer and bridge are 5000-year old bog oak. The rosette is made with pieces of spalted beech and walnut.

The scale length is 650mm, the machine heads are Schertler, and the finish french polish.
