You made the right decision IMHO. I sell occasionally on Reverb and I would have absolutely declined this sale. I'd NEVER ship to someone other than the buyer. If they really wanted the deal, the NJ contact should be the buyer. At that point you're out of the picture and they can figure out getting paid back from his Brazilian buddy before or after hand delivering the guitar. The extra pressure put on you for speedy delivery is all the more suspicious. Good call.
