Perhaps you can call MF and ask them to weigh in. I would see if they will cover the cost of a new nut being made locally. Guild may send you a replacement, but it is likely glued in place. Otherwise, the new Guild products are fairly consistent based on my recent test driving. I'd be surprised if a replacement was a step down.
