I hear many say that for guitars with electronics the tusq saddle is better because it gives a totally consistent material to transmit vibrations to the transducer, and that bone is less dense and less efficient, so you’re losing something. I don’t know if that is true, but I have switched them out before and any improvement I heard could have just been attributable to new strings and a new setup.
