Plenty of people here have installed K&Ks in much fancier guitars. It's a tried-and-true pickup at a very good price. Do a forum search... people have even tried much more expensive pickups and then gone back to a K&K Pure Mini. And a good preamp, K&K or not, will help any UST or SBT pickup.
