I have never tried that. The Spire is fast and easy for up to 8 tracks. There are two 3.5mm outputs on the Spire, so I suppose (aka guessing) you could run a cable from one of those outputs to an iPhone or iPad, with an adapter.
The Spire has a pretty decent condenser mic built-in and two preamp inputs... but I'm not aware of anyone using it to add audio to a video.
