I use Sennheiser HD 280 pro closed backs for tracking. They are pretty popular and not too expensive. My nicer open backs for checking mixes are Sennheiser HD 600s. They are a lot “flatter” sounding and considerably more expensive but also very popular.
There are lots of other, equally as good recommendations as well. These are what I like.
