Depends on your budget. Frankly, anytime I hear "cannon", I think "Froggy Bottom". Pound for pound they're the loudest guitars I've ever played.
I'm not sure from your post if you're wanting a short-scale, 12 fret, or both. Many builders make short scale 12 and 14 fret guitars, and Larrivee in particular makes 12 fret long scale models.
The Froggy SJ is a 25" scale, 14 fret Gibson-ish body. Cannon indeed.
