Most of the music I find myself drawn to doesn’t fit neatly in any boxes… I tend to let other people argue about whether it’s One Thing or The Other Thing.
Having said that, Billy can certainly pick trad bluegrass as well as pretty much anyone out there when he wants to. If people want to grumble about “dang kids today” when they think he’s stepping outside the box, well, I guess that’s a thing they can do.
Recommend Family Strings on YouTube as well… watch him pick a trad set with his dad.
