I'll find out and post it, but I believe it to be either rosewood or ebony. Whichever, Mike does a great job of assessing and matching any grain so the whole integrates with itself and the rest of the guitar.
I've long been impressed with his selection of color and grain to support the whole "concept" - whether it's a theme like these or a more generic array of wood appointments.
