A lot of great ideas so far, Ryan. As far as woods go, I guess I'd like to see either of the more uncommon ones used but I have faith that you will make anything work well. As far as a new challenge goes, rather than a wedge, you might give consideration to a tummy tuck. I've played exactly one high-end acoustic with one and I've seen pics of one other. Requires a bit of radical use of a hot pipe and a heat gun (I'm told) and some different ideas in back bracing. One thing that surprised me about it was that it pretty much eliminated (or reduced) the need for an arm bevel since the amount of forearm that overhangs the top is increased by the depth of the bend. That's my 2¢ for making your life easier.
