The thing about the Adamas is that it may have a plastic back and a carbon fiber top, but it still has a wood neck and fretboard. That means if you don't keep it well humidified you can still get the neck to shrink and the fret ends becoming exposed. CA guitars do not have this problem as the neck and fretboard are all composite.

So if you are interested in the maintenance free aspect of a carbon guitar in your Chicago winters, that could be something to take into consideration.
