I saw an interview with him several months ago and they asked him about his Martin. It's a vintage 00-17 from the late 30's (I can't remember the exact year but its a 30's) and to keep it in playing condition he uses light strings and tunes down a whole step. He said he can't find another guitar that works for him like the Martin so he's going to do everything he can to preserve it and continue using it. I really didn't "get it" with his whole appeal until I learned more about him and where he's from. He's definitely the real deal.
