Dan, the veneer is being used as purfling...at least eventually. These were some test pieces to see if they would fit a design scheme. They are .045” thick and roughly 1/8” tall.
Here’s the requested saw picture. A .020” saw blade that is slightly rounded with teeth that switch directions midway through the blade to cut in both pull and push strokes. Handy for cutting thin material.
