Anyone think he should steer away from the guild m20? Guess if he waits long enough he can hold out for a used 0-15 or 00-15 from martin under $1K.
I briefly had a new m20. I ended up returning it because it arrived with a cracked brace. I opted not to replace it because I had second thoughts about whether I really needed another guitar.

That said, I really liked the m20, and I can't see any reason your friend should steer away from it if he's looking for an US-made all solid 00 sized mahogany guitar. That's a great price if he can get it for that.

EDIT: I don't blame the cracked brace on Guild quality control. I bought it at a discount online from a retailer selling it as "open box," and it's very possible the damage was caused by a previous buyer or during shipping. Other than that defect, it seemed to be a very well-made instrument.
