Here’s my thoughts, from a 26 year old. Martin and Taylor both make excellent guitars. I can’t get along with the Martin neck profile, so I’ve never owned one. I think they’re great and that’s the only thing keeping me from one. Taylor’s are cool too. I’ve owned a few, sold them, they were good guitars.
But if you’re in one of those two camps ONLY, I may suggest you walk out of the Guitar Center and research a little only to find out there’s a few more brands out there that are even better than the two everyone knows about.
