The only problem I hear with the first one is room reflections coming back into the recording. Get some gobos, or moving blankets and set them up strategically to help absorb room reflection. It sounds pretty good other than that. It needs some work done in post though. If you took care of the room, then expirement with mic placement (tiny amounts of movement can make a difference) you should be able to produce great recordings with what you have.
