Well, I've made a little progress. I realized that the above link does not have a .jpg extension - which is apparently required.
I went to Picasaweb and opened the photo, and clicked on the 'Link to this Photo', then went to the 'Embed Image' and selected the 'large' size. Then I copied the link to Notepad and you get this:
Quote:
<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/fsToHL-9dlhUH9TVnpxP8DEjQOYoXzBwkKyddtT39G8?feat=embedweb site"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-C_FxC2fGinc/VlYJYCBx_3I/AAAAAAAAANE/XcKn1ep4GNc/s640-Ic42/IMG_0936.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/103431728375121234842/Public02?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite">Public</a></td></tr></table>

Look for the URL that ends in '.jpg', in this case:
Copy this carefully - without the quote marks. Open the 'Insert Image' tool in the AGF forum and paste this link into the dialogue box.
This is what you get:
Surely there must be a more elegant method to embed photos from PicasaWeb??? Oh, wait - it is a Google product, isn't it
