Thanks Dennis....under the clamps is an area of sapwood which I really like, but does keep the veneer from being perfectly symmetric which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but those who know me know that I like that natural look and beauty in the wood (live-edge headstock of my Hatcher for example). If we don't like it when we get a better look at it, we can always change it I guess...The grain pattern in this is very cool.
