Pete Townshend, especially during the "Empty Glass" through "Psychoderelict" era. (He sounded most astounding on "Chinese Eyes" and "White City"). He is usually not in great voice live (especially of late), but the "Deep End Live" sessions are the exception to that.
Eva Cassidy, of course.
Claudia Schmidt
Jennifer Warnes (especially "Famous Blue Raincoat" CD)
Stan Rogers
Joan Baez (up through "Diamonds & Rust")
Judy Collins (pre-TB)
Peter Himmelmann
Freddie Mercury
Steve Perry (not a big Journey fan but oh, what a set of pipes!)
Anne Hills
Cindy Mangsen
Reilly & Maloney (the blend is amazing, though individually they're just very good)
Richard Thompson
I have other faves, of course, but these are the voices themselves that make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
