You've nailed him to the wall.

I think he just wants to weed out the window shopping tire kickers, and then get a few people in the door for impulse buying, or at best maybe actually haggle over the better stuff with cash in hand.

He probably doesn't need the money, or the aggravation, or his ex to know that he still has anything left.
