I think the combination works very well both color wise and tone wise.
I usually stay away from Redwood because I find it a bit fragile at the thicknesses I typically go to on my tops. However, because a parlor is smaller it will have a thicker top. That may seem counterintuitive but when the top is smaller it still needs to support the same amount of string tension as a larger top. So I get my thicker top and am a bit more comfortable using Redwood.

Cedar and walnut are a great combination. I'm making cedar and Black Walnut Greta for cigarfan right now. Redwood has similar characteristics to cedar so we're off to a good start!
