A California collector I will call Dave O. Had the better of the two original OM 42 guitars. It was sold and he started looking for 1930 OM 45s. I played them both. One was good; the other was great. Tony McManus came through town and played it. Next time I saw him he asked if my friend still had it an declared it the finest Martin he had ever played.

No was my answer. It was sold to get one of the 14 1930 OM45 Deluxes which I didn't get to play, only to hold. Dave never showed it to me after he bought it.

Last time I talked to Dave O., he had two OM 45s again.
