No, but I think it's better to have as few as possible, i.e. once your string is tied at the saddle, pull it through the tuning post's holes a sufficient length so that there is not much slack and then knot it around (at least 3 times for trebles, 2 for basses).
But I think a video works better than me trying to explain this.
