Thanks for your responses guys. The other day I had my last class with my teacher. Now I'm on my own and can taylor my practice to my own taste. Here is my practice plan for now:

Classic: Concierto de Aranjuez, Minuet in C
Latin American: Naranja Madura
Rock: Intro to Stairway
Chord progression: Hotel California
Riff: a part of Echoes by Pink Floyd (just going up and down the A string)

This is diverse enough to keep me interested. Now I practice based on my own passion instead of for preparation for the class. Like yesterday I spent more than an hour practicing Naranja Madura. I like this song a lot but my instructor hadn't even heard of it. I learned some important stuff from him though. Once I feel I need new instructions and feedback I can temporarily see an instructor.

@Gordon Currie: Isn't a scale just a progression of chords? Also I'm a nerd and so knowledge of the fretboard in itself is something interesting to me.
