Interesting discussion. As a point of comparison (w/ a petite lady's fingers), my LH stretch is 6 1/2 - 7 inches. Length of LH middle finger is 3 inches. So based on this scientific obsevation I suppose I have longer than average fingers and explains why I feel comfortable playing a long scale guitar.
