Had anyone here purchased woods for building guitars from Betty and Lefty?
Really nice people and I remember crawling through the basement, hoping not to be eaten by giant rats, and found some nice ebony boards for making solid ebony necks among lotsa other woods.
They had spruce from Europe, for flat tops, that was wrapped in plastic from Thompson submachine guns. Dated to the 1940s.
If you did buy those spruce tops what did you build and how did it sound?
Anytime I had spare change I'd stop in and buy.
One time their pack of German Shepards had my forearms in their mouths and when they let go I had lotsa scratches. I told Betty that it was no biggie, I'm a dog lover and the pups were just playing.
