I don't understand the diagnosis. 'Buzzing on the first fret' means one of two things, neither of which will be addressed by the Taylor Gold repair guy.
If the buzzing is only on an open string (string hitting first fret), then the nut is too low, or the first fret is too high. If the buzzing occurs only when fretting on the first fret, then that fret is too low, or the second fret is too high.
