For a couple of different reasons I prefer to have my guitars tuned a semi tone down to D# standard.

It's about 10% less string tension.

Is this likely to have any long term health effects on the guitar? One that comes to mind is it might be less likely to need a neck reset down the line. Maybe?

Just interested in peoples thoughts as I recently made a big "this guitar is for life" kind of purchase.
