Steve and Ryan- great work, guys!
I have the same electric bending iron you are using, and mine gets covered with resin and guck too. But I recently discovered, you can clean it up very easily, using some Easy-off Oven Cleaner. Just spray it on, leave it overnight, and wipe off the crud in the morning- and you're down to bare metal again! Just thought I'd pitch in two cents worth of unsolicited blah-blah!
Thanks Steve,

It is really starting to come fast and furious now and looking really good....

Now I have a wine stain on a cotton shirt, can you help me with that???? Your solution is probably better than most as it seems to me that WD 40 is the answer for most everything on the forum from arthritic fingers to fret board woes.....
