Years back I got into recording and I had the latest and greatest. I worked at it and studied it and played with it and I learned a great deal. But it never felt creative or intuitive to me. Now I can flip the switch and reroute the signal flow and have at it. But I don't. It's not all that much fun to me. I'd rather pick up my guitar and play. And experience some sonic wonderland I never visited before.
