I think itís just the evolution of their product line. Why make more than one chip? Also itís designed for recording, Iím just using it for streaming. And the compression is optional of course. All that aside, I can tell you itís the best sounding USB solution Iíve tried. I wonít be using any other USB product after this. It just works well for me.
