About 15-20 years ago the volume-only Valve Junior was a recording-studio secret weapon, and the tone controls/onboard effects only give it more versatility; FYI there are mod kits and tube upgrade packages (as well as high-efficiency upgrade speakers) out there that'll turn your five-watter into a real little buttkicker, so if you're a hands-on guy you can easily make it your personalized tone machine...
