Steam is the trick. If you can’t see a screw or anything that someone tried as a hack, it’s not there and it’s just getting hung up. I had a similar problem with a Kay upright bass neck and a harmony archtop. An extra set of hands might help. One person to hold the body and another to work the neck straight out of the joint. Be patient and when you feel it let go, you’ll think you broke everything anyway!
