I'd look at the Sennheiser e935, Heil PR35 or the Audix OM5. I like the e935 best, it has very good rejection. The beta 87a I had for a while also had good rejection but you really had to be on position with it I felt, not a fan of super cardioid if you're playing an instrument too. The sm7b needs a ton of gain, people usually use cloud lifters with it.
