What do you really expect these people to do? You think the salesman will contradict his boss? Why?

Just move along... there's plenty of D-16s out there with gloss tops you can buy. None of this stuff is all that rare or that interesting to get worked up at the Guitar Center employees over.

So it was raw wood? Sounds like there was just a total breakdown of communication and expectancy around Guitar Center that day.
