That is correct, no 'ring' connection on a standard guitar lead. In the link below is an image that I've indicated the 'ring' connection in a jack that when a standard TS type guitar cord is plugged in will connect that ring contact to the sleeve. The sleeve connection completes the battery circuit to turn on the electronics of the guitar.
If you can post your location (US, Europe, or other) I can browse around see if I can locate a source for a jack. Sometimes the manufacturer can supply the correct part. What happened to the original one that it needs replacing?
