Thinking this is a good move for Gibson assuming that they don't change the production of the amps and try and tinker with classic Mesa amps. Great way for Gibson to get in the amp business and also a way to help prevent Fender, or another major competitor, from acquiring Mesa.
Watch for Gibson amps to come out in year.

You probably remember that Gibson was in the amp business decades ago, with the GA series tube amps. They never had the commercial success of Fender or Marshall, but they did have some good sounding amps.
More recently, they were a distributor for the LAB series guitar amps that MOOG made, who were also owned by Norlin.
