I’m currently reading the book “The Laws of Brainjo: The Art & Science of Molding a Musical Mind” by Dr. Josh Turknett, that I heard about on this forum. One of the things the author discusses are the differences of how a child learns to speak versus how to read. There’s a lot of interesting information regarding learning an instrument.
