This is my interpretation of the CBG:
The bridge posts pass through the plank and rest on the biscuit tin. It is fairly quiet, but somewhat dobro-like. It has a magnetic pickup that senses the metal top movement, and it sounds like a piezo.
I play it at least as much as anything else I have these days, because I like the tone and I've got more interested in lap steel the past couple of years.
