Default Superb performance of the greatest guitar concerto.

Lovely performance with an excellent balance between soloist and orchestra.

Without doubt the greatest guitar concerto - there aren’t that many - and one of my favourite pieces of music in the repertoire. Rodrigo didn’t play guitar himself but Understands the instruments idiosyncrasies so well.

Thanks for posting.

My favourite recording of this piece is with Pepe Romero, The Academy of St Martin in the Fields, conducted by Sir Neville Marriner. Wonderful orchestral playing where Pepe Romero brings a precision and fluidity to the guitar part I’ve not heard anywhere else. If you haven’t heard this recording, give it a try.
