I've had a couple of Ovation Adamas guitars and they've both been some of my favorites. My 1982 Adamas II (1681-7), which had a Suspension-Ring top and A-bracing (as I recall), was my first experience with carbon-fiber. The tops of these guitars were actually a laminate of carbon fiber/birch/carbon fiber and had a very magical and balanced crystalline tone compared to anything I'd ever heard before. My other Adamas was a 2008 Adamas 2080 NWT. This guitar was a non-Suspension-ring design, with cutaway body and it had scalloped-X-bracing. It didn't have as much crystalline tone as my Adamas II but a Martin HD-28 didn't have anything over this guitar in the bass-frequency range!

I must get another Ovation Adamas! Love 'Em!
