Oh dear, that is a bad one.

Desperate individuals. Predators, too, of course, so they don't get much sympathy. But I'd rather be me, working hard and earning an honest wage and living comfortably, than live whatever life in whatever place that led them to this. So if i receive one of these I'm reminded that I'm still winning and am fortunate. I can't hate them too much.

Fun fact - good scammers tend to make their efforts a bit shoddy on purpose, because it filters out the smarter victims. If you fall for this, you're a grade-A moron and therefore likely to fall for the subsequent stages in which you share your bank details.

If these initial messages were too convincing, they'd have thousands of credulous responses from people who'd ultimately realise the scam, wasting huge amounts of effort and time for the scammer. Far more efficient to send this nonsense to 20,000 people with a simple bot, and then focus your efforts on the 3 people that fall for it.
