Remarkable hand made OOO 12-fret guitar. Old growth Brazilian back, sides and bridge. Tight grained Alpine spruce top. Ebony fingerboard and headstock overlay. Ebony buttoned Waverly open back tuners. Abalone purfling. In addition to being strikingly beautiful, this masterfully crafted small body is a joy to hold and play. Rich and bold bell-like ring and sustain. Balanced across the range. Responds equally well to a flatpick or to fingerpicking. With a quality level that is equivalent to the well-known boutique makers, it is constructed in an utterly crisp and confident manner. It is equivalent to other builder's models costing thousands of dollars more. One photo shows a slight discoloration in the binding on the upper bout. It was like this when I bought it new. there has been no change
With top notch appointments, this is an amazing guitar of the sort that grows into being a part of the family and gets passed down.
This fabulous sounding and playing guitar is crafted by this unusually gifted luthier who is from Virginia. I have a second Jon Nixon 000 that is all Koa and it's purchase was based on my experience with this guitar. My playing style has moved to all finger picking so a larger nut is a requirement for me now. Nut is 1.72" and the string spacing at the bridge is 2 3/16" Someone is going to be very happy with this guitar! Ask anything you need to know.
Also has a K&K pick-up installed.
