I had the exact same reaction as you a couple years ago.
I used to listen to "news" radio during my drives to work.
I found myself getting angrier and angrier.
One day I just stopped cold turkey. I deleted all my radio presets and never listened to news again. I only watch local weather on TV.
My stress level has gone down immeasurably and I haven't missed anything important (the great fear they feed you).
Just turn it off.
