The second tip is there is that there is little point in worrying about things that you personally, cannot change/affect.
These are two excellent points.

The BBC is a very good place to get information. In the states, NPR is the best, IMO. (And having worked as a news photographer, I am a news junkie.)

There is much garbage elsewhere.
