Check out the Alvarez Masterworks dreadnought... all solid woods, mahogany with a spruce top, nice herringbone purfling, Waverly open-gear tuners, really good fit and finish and a VERY nice hardshell case... no electronics...
$599 at my local store in town here, so probably less expensive on the 'net...
