Hi Guido,
The Alligator is a good choice but don't rule out the Gretsch Boxcar for Blues just because it's a spider reso. I have used mine exclusively for Blues for the last 5 years or so. Loud, great tone and great bang for the buck.
The Epiphones are known to have quality issues.
That said, the Beard Goldtones are supposed to be far superior, although I have never played one. Check it out if you can.
