I've also noticed, myself included, that a lot of folks with expensive guitars go into recording with expectations of spending minimal on equipment. I've also noticed on gearslutz, that a lot of folks with expensive recording gear are using quite inexpensive guitars. I guess it's sometimes priorities of one over the other, and sometimes balancing between the two.
